Journalism

Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.

Thought to be originated by comedian Martin Mull, this quote best summarizes my feelings on music journalism. I strive to shine a light on music that makes me feel something special, and I hope that each piece of writing I share with the world connects with someone in one way or another. I have a soft spot for indie rock, alternative pop, folk, and singer-songwriter music — a good strings or saxophone moment will always get me.

My journalism extends beyond music content to news articles and features. My first-ever venture into journalism was a soapbox for my hometown’s local newspaper, The Coloradoan. I’ve been published in on-campus organizations The Hofstra Chronicle and Her Campus as well as independent music publication Sparky’s former blog site.  I am open to all opportunities for entertainment journalism work, and my samples are linked below.
